Royal Caribbean Dominates 2026 Rankings With 7 of the Top 10 Cruise Ships
Royal Caribbean has once again proven its dominance in the cruise industry, sweeping the top spots in the 2026 Member Choice Awards by Cruiseline.com.
According to the annual rankings—based on thousands of verified reviews from real cruisers—Royal Caribbean ships claimed the top seven spots for Best Cruise Ship Overall and eight out of the top ten positions. The results highlight the cruise line’s continued popularity with travelers looking for ships packed with entertainment, dining, and activities.
The awards are determined using review data submitted by Cruiseline.com community members who sailed between January and December 2025.

Royal Caribbean Wins Big in 2026 Awards
In addition to dominating the top ships list, Royal Caribbean also took home several major cruise line awards.
The cruise line was named:
- Best Mainstream Cruise Line
- Best Cruise Line for Service
- Best Cruise Line for Activities and Entertainment
Cruiseline.com’s rankings are based on one of the largest databases of verified cruise reviews, collected through partnerships with major travel agencies. Only travelers who have actually sailed on a ship can leave reviews, which are then analyzed to determine the winners.
Jamie Cash, Chief Operating Officer of Cruiseline.com, congratulated the cruise lines recognized in the awards.
“These awards would not be possible without the support of our community members who shared their cruise experiences and insights with us over the past year,” Cash said.

Utopia of the Seas Takes the Top Spot
Claiming the number one position for 2026 is Utopia of the Seas, Royal Caribbean’s newest Oasis Class ship that debuted in summer 2024.
The ship offers a wide range of experiences, from waterslides and surf simulators to dozens of restaurants and entertainment venues. Instead of traditional week-long cruises, Utopia focuses on short 3- and 4-night Caribbean sailings from Port Canaveral, visiting Nassau and Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Royal Caribbean has marketed these sailings as the “world’s biggest weekend,” appealing to travelers looking for quick getaways.
Cruiseline.com members praised the ship’s service, entertainment, and dining options.
One traveler wrote in their review:
“From the moment we stepped onboard, everything exceeded our expectations — the staff was friendly and attentive, the food was amazing, and there was always something fun to do.”
Strong Showings From Royal Caribbean’s Largest Ships
Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas took second place overall. The ship spent part of 2025 sailing weeklong Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral before repositioning to Miami to offer shorter Bahamas cruises.
In third place was Star of the Seas, an Icon Class ship that only debuted in August. Despite having less than half a year of reviews, it still scored high enough to rank among the best ships overall.
Other Royal Caribbean ships in the top seven include:
- Oasis of the Seas
- Mariner of the Seas
- Symphony of the Seas
- Icon of the Seas, currently the largest cruise ship in the world
The close scores between these vessels suggest strong guest satisfaction across Royal Caribbean’s fleet.
Special Awards for Individual Ships
Several Royal Caribbean ships also received category-specific honors in the awards.
- Star of the Seas – Best New Cruise Ship of 2026
- Utopia of the Seas – Best Cruise Ship for Food and Dining, Staterooms, and Service
- Icon of the Seas – Best Cruise Ship for Activities and Entertainment
These wins highlight the cruise line’s focus on delivering large ships with extensive dining options, high-end entertainment, and modern accommodations.
Honorable Mentions
Cruiseline.com also recognized five additional ships that narrowly missed the top 10.
Honorable mentions include:
- Celebrity Eclipse
- Celebrity Beyond
- Koningsdam (Holland America Line)
- Allure of the Seas
- Celebrity Summit
Some of these ships are older vessels that still ranked highly against newer ships, showing their continued popularity with travelers.
Why These Rankings Matter

With thousands of reviews contributing to the rankings, the awards offer valuable insight into which ships cruisers believe deliver the best vacations at sea.
And in 2026, the results make one thing clear: Royal Caribbean continues to set the standard for large, activity-packed cruise ships.
