Carnival Passengers Caught in Shocking Buffet Brawl Over Chicken Tenders
A late-night snack run turned chaotic when a brawl erupted among passengers onboard a Carnival cruise ship—allegedly over chicken tenders.
A Midnight Meltdown
The altercation broke out around 2 a.m. in the ship’s Lido Marketplace, where Carnival typically serves food late into the night. According to fellow cruiser Mike Terra, who filmed the incident, tensions escalated quickly between a group of younger passengers.
The viral video shows guests yelling, shoving, and trading punches, with shoes and cellphones flying through the air. At one point, a frustrated woman can be heard shouting, “Where the f— is security?” as a lone crew member attempted to break up the melee.
Terra later summed up the absurdity of the incident in his video: “Over chicken tenders is crazy.”

What Sparked the Fight?
The exact cause of the altercation remains unclear. Some passengers believe someone grabbed the last piece of chicken or tried to take more than their share. Terra told the Daily Mail UK that while “there was more to it than just fried chicken,” that was essentially “the basics.”
Carnival Cruise Line has yet to issue an official statement, and the ship’s name and sailing date have not been confirmed.
Carnival’s No-Tolerance Policy
Carnival is well known for its zero-tolerance stance on fighting. Guests who engage in violent behavior can face fines of $500, confinement to their cabins, or even a stay in the ship’s brig before being disembarked—with no refund. Repeat offenders may also receive a lifetime ban from sailing with the cruise line.
“All guests must acknowledge and commit to our code of conduct during the check-in process, and any violation may result in a fine of $500, possible stateroom confinement and removal from the ship,” the company states in its policy.
Those involved in this late-night scuffle likely now face serious consequences, including potential bans.
Not the First Onboard Brawl
Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated incident. Carnival ships have seen several headline-making altercations this summer:
- August: A dozen guests fought outside the Long Beach Cruise Terminal in California.
- June: Passengers on Carnival Sunrise were banned after a fight on the Lido Deck where both fists and chairs were thrown.
- June: Another late-night buffet fight erupted on Carnival Paradise, ending in lifetime bans for participants.
Carnival has attempted to crack down on such behavior with its “Have Fun. Be Safe” guidelines, which reinforce curfews for minors, smoking restrictions, and bans on illegal substances. Still, viral videos of cruise ship fights continue to surface online.
Bottom Line
While the details may be murky, one thing is clear: a late-night snack shouldn’t come with this level of drama.
For those involved, the cost of a plate of chicken tenders may have ended up being a cruise vacation—and future Carnival sailings.
