MSC Cruises Introduces Sports Betting on 8 Ships for Trial Run

MSC Cruises is teaming up with Playtech, a global leader in gaming technology, to offer an exciting new service for its guests.

Starting in 2025, a selection of MSC ships will feature retail sports betting as part of a trial program. This initiative will allow guests to place bets while sailing in international waters.

The trial will include eight MSC ships, covering 284 voyages. While the specific vessels have yet to be disclosed, the new sports betting service marks a first for MSC Cruises, as the line has never offered this kind of gaming experience before.

Mara Friso, Head of Casino at MSC Cruises, expressed excitement about the collaboration, saying, “We are thrilled to offer sports gaming to our guests, bringing a new level of excitement and engagement through our partnership with Playtech. Our modern ships will provide a range of immersive digital content alongside our world-class casino options.

Playtech, which has been a trusted partner of MSC Cruises for years, is known for its innovative software in online casinos and sports betting platforms.

The two companies first began working together in 2014, with Playtech providing MSC’s casino management system, “Neon.” The new agreement expands their partnership, allowing MSC Cruises to tap into the growing market of sports betting.

The success of this trial could pave the way for MSC to roll out sports betting across its entire fleet of 23 ships, offering more guests the chance to join in on the action.

Yori Arami, Vice President of Sports Commercial at Playtech, emphasized the long-standing relationship between the companies, calling MSC Cruises the perfect partner to introduce sports betting to a global audience.

With this new addition to its offerings, MSC Cruises is set to provide guests with even more ways to enhance their cruise experience, blending the thrill of sports betting with the luxury and excitement of life at sea.
