Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas Finishes Early—New Sailings Just Announced

Cruise fans eager to experience Royal Caribbean’s newest Icon Class ship, Legend of the Seas, are getting an unexpected gift: extra sailings.

The line has confirmed that the ship will be delivered three weeks ahead of schedule in 2026, allowing the cruise line to add new itineraries in Europe before her official debut.

Earlier Inaugural Sailing

Originally scheduled to launch on August 8, 2026, Legend of the Seas will now set sail on her inaugural cruise July 11, 2026.

The first itinerary will be a roundtrip from Rome (Civitavecchia) with port calls in Naples, Barcelona, Mallorca, and Marseille before returning to Italy.

Guests already booked on the August 8 sailing can either remain on their original departure date or switch to one of the new earlier options.

Extra Mediterranean Options

Two additional itineraries have been added to meet the high demand. A July 18–25 sailing will repeat the same roundtrip route from Rome, while a special 8-night “Legend Showcase Mediterranean” cruise departing July 25 will travel one-way from Rome to Barcelona, visiting Naples, Mallorca, Alicante, and Malaga along the way.

At the time of announcement, fares start at $2,043 per person for the July 18 cruise and $2,327 per person for the July 25 cruise.

Beyond these early sailings, Legend of the Seas will continue offering Mediterranean voyages through October 2026.

Transatlantic Crossing

One highlight of the schedule is a 13-night transatlantic cruise departing October 25 from Barcelona.

This voyage will allow guests to enjoy both Mediterranean and Atlantic waters before the ship repositions to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale to begin her Caribbean season.

Caribbean Deployment

Once in Florida, Legend of the Seas will begin 6- to 8-night sailings to the Western and Southern Caribbean. Every itinerary will include a call at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, one of the line’s most popular destinations.

A Head Start for Cruisers

As the third Icon Class ship, Legend of the Seas is highly anticipated for its size, technology, and entertainment options. Finishing early means cruisers now have more opportunities to be among the first to experience her innovative features on both sides of the Atlantic.
