Virgin Voyages to Match Loyalty Status with Over 35 Travel Programs
Virgin Voyages is taking loyalty recognition to new heights with the launch of its most expansive status match program ever, extending benefits to millions of travelers across various industries.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to reward frequent travelers from over 35 hotel chains, airlines, and cruise lines, offering them exclusive perks and recognition on their first sailing with Virgin Voyages.

What Is Virgin Voyages’ Status Match?
Virgin Voyages is introducing the “world’s broadest status match program,” allowing travelers who have earned high-tier loyalty status with other travel programs to instantly enjoy Virgin Voyages’ “Blue Extras” benefits.
Eligible travelers from major hotel chains, airlines, and cruise lines can now apply for a status match, offering a smooth transition to Virgin Voyages’ adult-only luxury cruises.
Which Programs Are Eligible?
The status match program includes a wide array of popular loyalty programs. High-level members of more than 35 travel loyalty programs across hotels, airlines, and cruise lines can apply, including:
- Cruise Lines: Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Latitudes Rewards, Carnival’s VIFP Club, Celebrity Cruises’ Captain’s Club, Disney Castaway Club, and MSC Cruises’ Voyagers Club.
- Airlines: American Airlines’ AAdvantage, United MileagePlus, Delta SkyMiles, and more.
- Hotels: Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, World of Hyatt, and IHG One Rewards.
Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club and Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer members are also eligible for the status match, ensuring a seamless transition for loyal customers across the Virgin family.
Exclusive “Blue Extras” Benefits
Travelers who apply for the status match and book a voyage with Virgin Voyages by March 31, 2026, will unlock a range of premium benefits known as “Blue Extras” on their first sailing. These exclusive perks include:
- Complimentary premium coffees at The Grounds Club
- Complimentary laundry service
- Access to exclusive cocktail parties with the crew and fellow sailors
- Personalized Sailor Services from embarkation to disembarkation
- And more!
Why Virgin Voyages Is Making This Move
According to Virgin Voyages’ CEO, Nirmal Saverimuttu, loyalty programs across the travel industry have often become less rewarding, with companies asking for more while offering less in return. Virgin Voyages is flipping that narrative by recognizing the loyalty that guests have already earned with other programs and offering real, tangible rewards from the moment they step aboard.
“Loyalty programs have gotten it backward. They ask for more, give less and call it a reward. We’re flipping that,” said Saverimuttu. “We want guests to feel recognized, relaxed, and reminded of why they fell in love with travel in the first place.”

Limited-Time Offer
Travelers have until January 16, 2026, to apply for Virgin Voyages’ status match. Once approved, they must book a sailing by March 31, 2026, to enjoy their Blue Extras benefits.
Eligible sailings are available through the summer of 2027, departing from a variety of homeports, including Miami, San Juan, New York, Barcelona, Athens, Los Angeles, and Seattle.
These voyages will explore the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Alaska, providing a wide array of destinations for guests to enjoy.
What This Means for Frequent Travelers
Virgin Voyages’ new status match program is a game-changer for frequent cruisers and travelers who have grown frustrated with the limitations of their current loyalty programs. With the ability to instantly unlock exclusive perks and enjoy a luxurious, adults-only cruise experience, travelers can now see their loyalty recognized in a whole new way.
As Virgin Voyages continues to see explosive growth in the adults-only cruise market, this bold move is sure to attract even more loyal travelers looking for a rewarding cruise experience.
For those who have long sought better recognition for their travel loyalty, Virgin Voyages is offering a refreshing alternative that truly values the loyalty guests bring with them.
Interested travelers should act quickly, as the status match program will close on January 16, 2026, with bookings for eligible sailings required by March 31, 2026.
