Carnival Introduces ‘Express Dining’—Finish Dinner in Under an Hour
Carnival Cruise Line is rolling out a new dining option designed for guests who want to enjoy a full dinner without spending their entire evening in the main dining room.
Called Express Dining, the new program aims to deliver a complete multi-course dinner experience in under 60 minutes, giving cruisers more flexibility to catch shows, explore the ship, or simply make the most of their vacation time.
The new service launched March 10 and is already available on 15 Carnival ships, with a fleetwide rollout expected by the end of May 2026.

A Faster Main Dining Room Experience
Dining has long been a centerpiece of the cruise experience, but traditional main dining room meals can sometimes stretch well beyond an hour. While many passengers enjoy a leisurely dinner, others prefer something quicker—especially on nights packed with entertainment or activities.
Carnival says the new Express Dining program is designed to solve that problem.
“Our guests continue to tell us they value greater flexibility in how they spend their time on board, and Express Dining was designed with that in mind,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
According to the cruise line, the new service still provides the same attentive service and freshly prepared dishes guests expect in the main dining room. The key difference is that the pacing of the meal is accelerated, cutting down on wait time between courses so guests can finish their dinner in roughly an hour.
How Express Dining Works
Express Dining is not a separate restaurant or venue. Instead, it’s an optional faster-service experience within the ship’s main dining room.
Guests who want to use the service can opt in through the Carnival HUB App when checking in for dinner.
However, there are a few important limitations:
- The option is only available to guests using “Your Time Dining.”
- It is limited to groups of six people or fewer.
- The menu mirrors the main dining room offerings but features a slightly abbreviated selection to keep service moving quickly.
- Special dietary requests can still be accommodated.
Guests with traditional assigned dining times, such as early or late seating, will continue to experience the standard dining pace.
Ships Currently Offering Express Dining
As of now, Express Dining is available on 15 ships across the Carnival fleet, including some of the line’s newest vessels.
Ships currently offering the service include:
- Carnival Jubilee
- Carnival Celebration
- Mardi Gras
- Carnival Venezia
- Carnival Firenze
- Carnival Panorama
- Carnival Horizon
- Carnival Sunrise
- Carnival Vista
- Carnival Breeze
- Carnival Radiance
- Carnival Conquest
- Carnival Dream
- Carnival Glory
- Carnival Freedom
Carnival says the remaining ships in its fleet will receive the new dining option by the end of May 2026.

More Flexibility for Guests
The Express Dining rollout is part of Carnival’s broader effort to give passengers more flexibility when it comes to food and dining schedules.
The cruise line recently introduced Family Express service on the Lido Deck, which was first piloted on Carnival Vista and has since expanded across the fleet. That option allows families with children to enjoy faster casual dining during busy meal periods.
Together, these new services reflect Carnival’s ongoing focus on offering a variety of dining styles—from quick meals to leisurely multi-course dinners.
Balancing Speed and Experience
For some cruisers, dinner is one of the highlights of the day—a chance to relax, socialize, and enjoy a long meal at sea. But for others, a faster option can make it easier to fit everything into an evening onboard.
Whether guests want a relaxed dining experience or a quicker meal before the next show, Express Dining gives them another way to plan their night.
And with the program expected to reach the entire fleet by early summer, Carnival passengers will soon have the option to finish dinner in under an hour—without sacrificing the main dining room experience.
