MSC Cruises to Bring Hot Yoga, Ice Baths, AR Experiences & LEGO Pop-Up to Ocean Cay

MSC Cruises is expanding what families can see and do at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the line’s private island in the Bahamas.

Beginning in January 2026, guests will see a phased rollout of all-new entertainment, wellness programming, and educational experiences designed to enhance days spent on the island.

The additions build on already-popular offerings like snorkeling, jet skiing, paddleboarding, and beach relaxation—while highlighting Ocean Cay’s identity as a true marine reserve focused on conservation.

Daily Wellness Programs Led by Onboard Coaches

Next year, Ocean Cay will introduce new wellness and sports programming, guided by two professional fitness coaches typically based on MSC’s U.S. ships.

Activities will include:

  • Hot yoga paired with ice baths in a “fire-and-ice” challenge
  • Sunrise yoga sessions set along the beach
  • Sound-healing meditation
  • Functional fitness workouts

Designed for both relaxation and rejuvenation, these sessions aim to help guests connect with the island’s natural beauty while supporting MSC’s focus on well-being.

Augmented Reality Treasure Hunt With a Conservation Twist

One of the most unique additions is a new Augmented Reality (AR) treasure hunt suitable for guests of all ages. Using mobile phones or tablets, visitors will explore the island scanning custom-built wooden sculptures, each tied to an environmental topic.

The AR storytelling will cover:

  • Ecological challenges affecting the region
  • MSC’s conservation initiatives
  • Educational insights on Ocean Cay’s native fish, plants, and wildlife

The experience reinforces the island’s mission as a restored marine reserve and sets it apart from traditional private-island beach stops.

LEGO Pop-Up Experience for Kids & Families

Families arriving at Ocean Cay will now be greeted by a colorful LEGO Pop-Up at the Welcome Pavilion. Seven iconic LEGO mascots—alongside MSC’s own mascot, Doremi—will make appearances, giving younger cruisers a fun, interactive play zone right when they step off the ship.

This activity adds another hands-on option for families, complementing the island’s child-friendly beaches and nature experiences.

Ocean Cay Favorites Still Available

All new offerings are additions, not replacements. Guests can still enjoy:

  • Eight sandy beaches with lagoon and ocean views
  • Water sports including snorkeling, paddleboarding, and jet skiing
  • Nature walks, games, and sports
  • Ocean-view spa treatments
  • The nightly lighthouse LED light show
  • Private cabanas with refreshments and floating mats
  • Exclusive Ocean House Beach access for MSC Yacht Club guests

Some itineraries even feature late-night or overnight stays, allowing time for stargazing and extended exploration.

Which Ships Will Visit Ocean Cay in Early 2026?

MSC Cruises sails to Ocean Cay from Miami, Port Canaveral, and New York, with more ships expected to call throughout the year. Early 2026 itineraries with potential access to the new offerings include:

  • MSC World America – 7-night Caribbean cruises from Miami
  • MSC Seaside – 3- and 4-night Miami sailings
  • MSC Divina – Variable Caribbean voyages from Miami
  • MSC Grandiosa – 3-, 4-, and 7-night sailings from Port Canaveral
  • MSC Meraviglia – 7-night Bahamas itineraries from New York

As the enhancements roll out in phases, guests are encouraged to check the MSC Cruises app for activity schedules tied to their sailing.

A Bigger, Better Ocean Cay Experience Ahead

With new tech-driven storytelling, wellness experiences, and family-friendly fun, MSC Cruises is working to make Ocean Cay a more immersive destination—one that blends recreation with education and supports the island’s ongoing marine restoration mission.

Cruisers visiting in 2026 can expect a more dynamic and enriching private-island experience than ever before.
