PortMiami Breaks Record with Over 75,000 Cruise Passengers in One Day

PortMiami has once again broken a record, this time welcoming an astonishing 75,201 cruise passengers in a single day. On Sunday, November 30, 2025, the port marked a major milestone as it hosted ten ships, surpassing the previous daily record set earlier in the year.

The impressive tally was driven by a mix of large, popular vessels that were in port for turnaround operations, meaning passengers were both disembarking and embarking for their cruises. While the port had previously seen record numbers in February 2025, with 68,000 passengers, the latest achievement went beyond that by over 7,000 guests.

The Record-Breaking Ships

PortMiami’s new daily record was supported by a diverse lineup of ships, which included ten vessels from seven different cruise lines: Azamara, Carnival, Celebrity, MSC, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, and Virgin Voyages. The ships in port on November 30, 2025, were:

  • Azamara Onward – 688 passengers
  • Carnival Celebration – 5,374 passengers
  • Carnival Horizon – 3,960 passengers
  • Carnival Sunrise – 2,984 passengers
  • Celebrity Beyond – 3,260 passengers
  • MSC Divina – 3,502 passengers
  • Norwegian Aqua – 3,571 passengers
  • Independence of the Seas – 3,634 passengers
  • Symphony of the Seas – 5,518 passengers
  • Scarlet Lady – 2,770 passengers

Notably, even though these ships collectively brought in over 75,000 passengers, the number could have been even higher. Cruise ships, especially larger vessels, often sail at over 100% capacity, meaning more than two passengers might occupy some cabins. For example, the Symphony of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship class, wasn’t in port that day but can carry over 7,500 guests when full.

PortMiami’s Growth and Future Outlook

This record-breaking day comes on the heels of another milestone: PortMiami has just wrapped up its best fiscal year ever, with over 8.5 million passengers in 2025, a four percent increase from the previous year. The port’s popularity shows no signs of slowing down, as it continues to attract an increasing number of ships and passengers. Newbuilds like Oceania Allura, Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady, and more recently, Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth have bolstered the port’s offerings, adding even more variety for travelers.

Looking ahead, PortMiami is set to welcome even more new ships in the upcoming 2025-2026 season, including Windstar’s Star Seeker and Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Luna. With a growing fleet and high demand for cruises, the port is poised to remain a major player in the global cruise industry.

In short, PortMiami continues to set new records, further cementing its reputation as the “Cruise Capital of the World.” Whether it’s welcoming massive ships or breaking daily passenger records, this South Florida port is showing that it has what it takes to keep up with the ever-growing cruise industry.
