Royal Caribbean Bringing ‘America’s Got Talent LIVE’ to New Ship Legend of the Seas
Royal Caribbean is bringing one of television’s most popular talent shows to the high seas. When Legend of the Seas, the cruise line’s upcoming Icon Class ship, debuts in 2026, guests will be able to watch a live stage production inspired by the hit global franchise America’s Got Talent.
The new show, America’s Got Talent LIVE, will mark the first time the well-known variety series has been adapted specifically for a cruise ship experience.

A Talent Show at Sea
Royal Caribbean confirmed that the production will take place inside the ship’s Royal Theater, featuring performers from the broader Got Talent universe. The show is designed to capture the energy and variety that made the television series famous around the world.
Instead of focusing on a single storyline, the production will feature a rotating lineup of performers. Acts may include magicians, musicians, vocalists, comedians, acrobats, aerialists, and other specialty performers.
Because the lineup can change between performances, guests sailing on the ship could experience different acts during their cruise, creating a sense of unpredictability similar to the television show.
Christine Coachman, Vice President of Entertainment for Royal Caribbean, said the new show reflects the cruise line’s focus on delivering larger-than-life productions.
“At Royal Caribbean, we are constantly redefining live entertainment at every turn—bringing jaw-dropping performances to life across stage, air, water, and ice—and America’s Got Talent LIVE on Legend of the Seas is the perfect expression of that vision,” Coachman said.
Partnership With the Got Talent Franchise
The Got Talent format is produced globally by entertainment company Fremantle, which partners with broadcasters and entertainment venues around the world.
Erica Gadecki, Executive Vice President of Partnership Solutions at Fremantle, said the company is excited to bring the brand to a completely new setting.
“We’re thrilled to bring Got Talent to an all-new at sea experience as we set sail for the first time with Royal Caribbean,” she said. “We can’t wait to showcase incredible acts from around the world on a brand-new stage onboard.”
While the cruise version will capture the spirit of the television show, early details suggest the onboard production may not include a voting component or competitive format. Instead, the focus will likely be on showcasing talented performers and high-energy variety acts.
Part of a Massive Entertainment Lineup
Although America’s Got Talent LIVE will likely become one of the ship’s headline shows, it will be just one part of a much larger entertainment program onboard Legend of the Seas.
Royal Caribbean has already confirmed several major productions and venues for the ship, including:
- A stage adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- The ship’s AquaTheater, featuring high-diving, aerial stunts, dancers, and robotic elements
- Absolute Zero, the largest ice arena ever built at sea, hosting ice skating performances
- Comedy shows and live music throughout the ship’s lounges and venues
Icon Class ships are designed with multiple purpose-built entertainment venues rather than relying on a single theater, allowing guests to see everything from water acrobatics to ice skating shows during their voyage.
One of the Largest Cruise Ships Ever Built
Legend of the Seas will be the third ship in Royal Caribbean’s groundbreaking Icon Class, joining some of the largest cruise ships in the world.
Key details about the ship include:
- Class: Icon Class
- Gross tonnage: Approximately 250,800
- Maximum capacity: Around 7,600 guests
- Shipyard: Meyer Turku in Finland
- Launch year: 2026
Like other ships in the class, the vessel will feature large entertainment venues, dozens of restaurants and bars, and attractions such as water slides, pools, and activity zones.

When the Ship Debuts
Legend of the Seas is scheduled to debut on July 4, 2026.
The ship will begin service with seven-night Mediterranean cruises, sailing from Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy, and visiting destinations across Southern Europe.
Later in the year, the ship will reposition to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where it will begin sailing six-night and eight-night Caribbean itineraries.
Every sailing from Florida will also include a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s award-winning private island in the Bahamas.
A New Era of Cruise Entertainment
Royal Caribbean has long pushed the boundaries of onboard entertainment, introducing ice skating shows, high-diving performances, and large-scale theatrical productions across its fleet.
By bringing America’s Got Talent to sea, the cruise line is continuing that trend—blending globally recognized entertainment brands with its increasingly resort-style cruise ships.
For passengers sailing on Legend of the Seas, the experience may feel less like a traditional cruise and more like stepping into a floating entertainment complex where the shows are just as memorable as the destinations.
