Star of the Seas Launches ‘Find My Kid’ Feature for Worry-Free Family Cruising
Royal Caribbean is giving parents extra peace of mind on its newest mega-ship, Star of the Seas, with a brand-new tracking tool called “Find My Kid”. The feature, available in the Royal Caribbean app, lets parents see their child’s real-time location on the ship’s deck maps — no frantic searching through 18 passenger decks required.
The system works through the Adventure Ocean WOW Band, a colorful, waterproof wristband designed for kids ages 3 to 12. Once linked to the app, the band sends location updates directly to parents’ smartphones.

It’s an especially useful option for children who are too young for cell phones or messaging apps, but old enough to enjoy a bit of independence during the voyage.
While the Star of the Seas can carry up to 7,600 guests, parents won’t need to worry as much about their kids getting lost among the ship’s countless attractions. Registration for the service is simple: after boarding, parents can stop by the Adventure Ocean kids’ club on Deck 6 to purchase a WOW Band for $14.99 (bands can be reused on future cruises at no extra cost).
Beyond tracking, WOW Bands double as a SeaPass card replacement — unlocking cabin doors, making parent-approved onboard purchases, and even displaying the child’s muster station for emergencies.

How to Use the “Find My Kid” Feature
Getting started with “Find My Kid” doesn’t require any advance setup before your cruise. Parents can follow these simple steps once onboard:
- Purchase or Register a WOW Band – Visit the Adventure Ocean kids’ club on Deck 6. If you don’t already own a WOW Band, you can purchase one for $14.99. Kids will wear the waterproof band throughout the cruise.
- Connect to the Ship’s Wi-Fi – While you don’t need an internet package to use “Find My Kid,” you must connect to the ship’s complimentary onboard Wi-Fi network for the app to work.
- Open the Royal Caribbean App – Tap the “Find My Kid” icon in the menu. The app will display a live view of your child’s current location on the ship’s deck plans.
- Track in Real Time – Parents can check the app anytime to see where their child is. It’s especially helpful if your little one is exploring with friends, visiting Adventure Ocean, or playing in one of the ship’s many activity zones.
At this time, the “Find My Kid” tracker is only available on Star of the Seas, but Royal Caribbean has hinted it may expand to other ships in the future.
The feature builds on the cruise line’s earlier “Kidfinder” pilot tested on Icon of the Seas in 2024 — a sign that high-tech child safety tools could soon become standard across the fleet.
