When Will Your Carnival Cruise Ship Be Decorated for Christmas in 2026? Here’s the Full Schedule
If you’ve got a holiday cruise booked on Carnival — or you’re still dreaming about one — here’s something that’ll get you even more excited: Carnival Cruise Line has released the exact dates when professional decorators will come aboard each of its 29 ships and transform them into floating winter wonderlands for Christmas and Hanukkah 2026.
That’s right — Carnival doesn’t just hang a few garlands. They bring in professional decorators to deck the halls (and the atriums, and the pool decks) fleet-wide. We’re talking massive Christmas trees, twinkling lights, and full holiday vibes from bow to stern.
🎄 What to Expect Onboard
Beyond the stunning decorations, Carnival has historically packed the holiday sailings with special activities that make it feel nothing like an ordinary cruise:
- 🎤 Christmas caroling
- 🎅 Visits by Santa Claus
- 🧥 Ugly sweater competitions
- 🎯 Holiday trivia and bingo
- 🕎 Nightly menorah lighting ceremony during Hanukkah (December 4–12, 2026)
Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, or just love the festive atmosphere, there’s something for everyone.

When Is Your Ship Getting Decorated?
If you’re sailing in late November, there’s a good chance your ship will be decorated before you even board — or the decorators will arrive during your cruise (which is honestly pretty magical to witness). For most of the fleet, the holiday transformation happens the week of Thanksgiving, just in time for the biggest travel week of the year.
The earliest decorating in North America kicks off November 27 on Carnival Conquest, Glory, and Frienze — and by December 6, every single ship in the fleet will be fully decorated for the season.
