Over 30 Cruise Passengers Brawl at Royal Caribbean’s CocoCay—Pool Shut Down (VIDEO)
More than 30 passengers were reportedly involved in a massive brawl at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, on Sunday, August 3 — marking one of the largest cruise-related altercations seen in recent memory.
The fight erupted at the island’s popular Oasis Lagoon, the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean. According to Cruise News Today host Doug Parker, the altercation was so intense that the pool area had to be temporarily shut down.
The brawl took place while Utopia of the Seas and Jewel of the Seas were docked at the island.

A video capturing the aftermath near the swim-up bar has since gone viral on TikTok, sparking widespread conversation about cruise passenger behavior, especially when alcohol is involved.
One witness sailing aboard Utopia told Cruise Radio that a guest was injured during the fight and escorted away by security.

As of now, Royal Caribbean has not released an official statement, and it’s unclear if any arrests were made or if those involved have been banned from future sailings.
However, the incident is drawing comparisons to a similarly chaotic fight at a Carnival terminal in April, which landed 24 passengers on the cruise line’s “Do Not Sail” list.
While brawls of this size remain rare in the cruise industry, the back-to-back viral incidents on both Carnival and Royal Caribbean have put a spotlight on passenger conduct and raised concerns about alcohol service, island security, and cruise line enforcement policies.
Cruise lines maintain strict zero-tolerance policies when it comes to physical altercations, and many passengers involved in such incidents face permanent bans.
Still, as these fights continue to pop up online, they remind travelers that bad behavior isn’t exclusive to one cruise line — and that the party vibe can quickly spiral out of control, even in paradise.
