Princess Cruises Makes a Grand Return to San Juan with Caribbean Sailings

Princess Cruises is set to make waves as it announces its return to San Juan, Puerto Rico, after over a decade.

Starting in October 2025, the cruise line will offer a season of enchanting Southern Caribbean cruises aboard the Grand Princess, with sailings scheduled from October 2025 through March 2026.

This exciting news was revealed by Princess Cruises, promising a lineup of seven-day Caribbean adventures that travelers can start booking from May 16, 2024.

Terry Thornton, the Chief Commercial Officer for Princess Cruises, expressed enthusiasm about reconnecting with the historic and charming port of San Juan.

“Our return not only offers our guests a rich travel experience but also diversifies our departure points across North America, enhancing accessibility for our travelers,” said Thornton.

San Juan, known for its vibrant culture and scenic beauty, has grown to become one of the fastest-expanding travel destinations in the Caribbean.

This growth is bolstered by increased flight options from the United States, Europe, and South America, making it an ideal point of departure for Princess Cruises.

Thornton highlighted the myriad opportunities San Juan offers for a delightful pre-or post-cruise stay, enriching the overall travel experience.

Originally scheduled to navigate the waters of Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific, the Grand Princess has shifted course to focus on two alternating Caribbean itineraries.

These week-long journeys are planned between October 12, 2025, and March 29, 2026, promising a mix of Eastern and Southern Caribbean destinations.

Carlos Mercado Santiago, the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, warmly welcomed the return of Princess Cruises to the Port of San Juan.

“This homecoming marks a milestone in our efforts to position San Juan as the premier homeport in the Caribbean,” Santiago remarked.

He also noted that these sailings are expected to significantly boost economic development for Puerto Rico and its regional partners, promoting a thriving tourism sector.

With the return of Princess Cruises, both travelers and the local economy are set to benefit from a season of exploration, culture, and picturesque Caribbean landscapes, making every journey a memorable adventure.
