Inside Perfect Day Mexico: Royal Caribbean’s New Destination With 30+ Slides and the World’s Longest Lazy River
Royal Caribbean is raising the bar once again.
The cruise line has officially revealed new details about Perfect Day Mexico, its next-generation private destination set to open in Fall 2027 along the Caribbean coast near Costa Maya. Designed to build on the massive success of Perfect Day at CocoCay, this new experience promises to be larger, more immersive, and packed with record-breaking attractions.
Spanning more than 200 acres, Perfect Day Mexico will introduce seven distinct themed neighborhoods, combining high-thrill adventures, family-friendly развлечения, and relaxing beach escapes—all in one destination.

Bigger and Bolder Than Ever
Royal Caribbean isn’t just expanding—it’s evolving.
Perfect Day Mexico is expected to be significantly larger than CocoCay and designed to accommodate tens of thousands of guests per day. The goal is clear: create a destination that delivers something for every type of cruiser, whether you’re chasing adrenaline, traveling with kids, or looking to unwind with a cocktail by the sea.
As Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean, explained:
“Perfect Day Mexico is unlike anything we’ve ever done. It’s designed to be the ultimate family vacation with unforgettable experiences.”

Fiesta Plaza – A Vibrant Welcome
Every visit begins at Fiesta Plaza, a vibrant hub designed to immerse guests in the spirit of Mexico from the moment they step off the ship.
Expect live music, dancing, and bold, colorful architecture setting the tone for the day ahead. Towering above it all will be the world’s largest sombrero, crowning the Tipsy Sombrero Bar—an instant icon where guests can grab margaritas, cervezas, and tropical cocktails.
This isn’t just an entrance—it’s part of the experience.
Loco Waterpark – The Ultimate Water Thrills
At the heart of Perfect Day Mexico will be Loco Waterpark, a massive attraction built for thrill-seekers.
With more than 30 waterslides spread across multiple towers, this will be one of the most ambitious waterparks Royal Caribbean has ever created.
Some crazy attractions include:
- Jaguar’s Peak — a 170-foot-tall slide tower, set to be one of the tallest in the Americas
- Dueling slides for side-by-side racing
- A coaster-style waterslide, blending speed with twists and drops
- A giant family raft slide designed for group rides
- A one-of-a-kind sombrero-shaped slide
Like Thrill Waterpark at CocoCay, access to Loco Waterpark is expected to be ticketed, giving guests the option to upgrade their day with high-adrenaline experiences.

Splash Cove: Home to the World’s Longest Lazy River
For something more relaxed—but still unique—Splash Cove will feature one of the most talked-about attractions: the world’s longest lazy river.
This isn’t your typical gentle float.
Guests can expect:
- A winding route that can take over an hour to complete
- Multiple entry and exit points
- Swim-up bars placed along the river
- Sections with rapids, waves, and unexpected twists
Whether you want to drift peacefully or hit more adventurous sections, the lazy river is designed to offer both.
Nearby, families will find expansive pools and splash areas, creating a central hub for all-day fun.

Adults-Only Escape at El Hideaway
For guests looking to leave the kids behind, El Hideaway will offer a dedicated adults-only retreat.
This area blends relaxation with a lively social atmosphere, featuring:
- A large zero-entry pool
- Multiple swim-up bars
- Live music and an in-pool DJ
- Private cabanas for a more exclusive experience
The standout option? The Ultimate Party Cabana, designed for groups of up to 20 guests, complete with a private space to celebrate in style.
A Beach Lover’s Dream: Chill Beach & Costa Beach Club
Not everything at Perfect Day Mexico is about thrills.
Chill Beach
Stretching nearly two miles along the coastline, Chill Beach offers a classic Caribbean escape:
- Soft white sand
- Complimentary loungers, umbrellas, and towels
- Plenty of space to relax away from the crowds
Costa Beach Club (Premium Experience)
For a more upscale day, Costa Beach Club delivers:
- A heated infinity pool
- Private cabanas with dedicated service
- A quieter, more exclusive atmosphere
It’s the perfect option for guests who want a luxury resort-style experience within the destination.
Dining, Drinks, and Nonstop Variety
Food and drink will play a major role in the Perfect Day Mexico experience.
Guests can expect:
- A wide range of regionally inspired dining options
- Both casual eateries and elevated dining experiences
- Many venues included in the cruise fare
- A total of 24 bars across the destination, including multiple swim-up bars
No matter where you are, a meal—or a margarita—is never far away.
As Kara Wallace shared:
“We are designing experiences that truly elevate the vacation experience, and Perfect Day Mexico is a perfect example of that ambition.”
Part of a Bigger Vision for Royal Caribbean
Perfect Day Mexico is just one piece of a much larger strategy.
Royal Caribbean is rapidly expanding its portfolio of exclusive destinations, including:
- Royal Beach Club Paradise Island (opened 2025)
- A new Royal Beach Club in Cozumel (opening 2026)
- Lelepa, a private island experience in Vanuatu in the South Pacific
Together, these destinations reflect a shift toward experience-driven cruising, where ports of call become as exciting as the ships themselves.

How to Visit Perfect Day Mexico
While exact itineraries have not yet been released, Royal Caribbean has confirmed that sailings to Perfect Day Mexico will depart from:
- Florida homeports
- Galveston, Texas
- New Orleans, Louisiana
Newer ships, including Icon-class vessels like Star of the Seas and Legend of the Seas, are expected to feature itineraries that include the destination.
Bookings are anticipated to open ahead of the 2027 launch.
The Ultimate Cruise Day Is Getting an Upgrade
With record-breaking attractions, expansive beaches, and experiences designed for every type of traveler, Perfect Day Mexico is shaping up to be Royal Caribbean’s most ambitious destination yet.
Whether you’re floating for an hour down a winding lazy river, racing down towering slides, or relaxing in a private cabana by the sea, this is a destination built to redefine what a “perfect day” at port can be.
And if Royal Caribbean delivers on its vision, 2027 can’t come soon enough.
