Guy’s Burger Joint on Carnival Cruise Line Brings Back Beloved Fries

Carnival Cruise Line is making waves with a return to its roots, reintroducing the beloved hand-cut French fries at Guy’s Burger Joint across its fleet.

This move comes as a response to overwhelming guest feedback, a testament to the cruise line’s commitment to listening to its customers and enhancing their dining experience.

John Heald, Carnival’s Brand Ambassador, recently confirmed the return of the original fries, much to the delight of loyal cruisers.

Heald, who interacts with guests daily through social media, acknowledged that many had noticed the change in fries and were eager for the return of the original recipe.

“We have returned to the original recipe hand-cut fries and will be doing this throughout the fleet in the days and weeks ahead,” Heald announced, giving a nod to Richard Morse, the Senior Vice President of Food and Beverage at Carnival, for making the change happen.

Guy’s Burger Joint, a popular dining spot introduced in 2011 aboard Carnival Liberty, was created in partnership with celebrity chef Guy Fieri. The venue quickly gained a reputation for serving some of the best burgers at sea, with over 10.5 million burgers served across the fleet in 2023 alone.

The fries, initially hand-cut and seasoned to perfection, became a quick favorite but were later replaced with a thicker, processed version that left some guests longing for the original.

The return to hand-cut fries has sparked joy among many guests, who took to social media to express their satisfaction.

Comments like “So happy they are going back to the original hand-cut fries. They were awesome!” and “Thank you. Those hand-cut fries are the best!” highlight the enthusiasm surrounding this change.

Carnival’s decision to revert to the original fries is part of a broader trend of the cruise line listening to guest feedback and making adjustments where possible.

Recently, the cruise line also reintroduced the Funfetti Cheesecake as an embarkation day dessert at the Lido Marketplace across all ships, another win for Carnival food lovers.

However, not all guest requests have been met. Despite a strong demand, Carnival has maintained the changes made to its omelette stations in late 2023, offering fewer made-to-order options.

Still, Carnival continues to enhance its dining options, including expanding vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices to meet the diverse needs of its passengers.

For cruisers who cherish the culinary experience aboard Carnival, the return of these fan-favorite fries is a small but significant win, reaffirming that guest voices are heard and valued by the cruise line.
